Useable, functional, virtual midi, background audio, stellar sound--no brainier. Get it!

but please expand the sequencer!! its a shame to not be able to program this thing properly in iOS.

This is an outstanding app! I am a hard-core sound designer and this thing has a ton of possibilities!

Using a IPad 4. Worked perfectly until the update. Opens up but as soon as you press a key, it crashes.

It crashes immediately after touching the keyboard. I hope a fix comes soon.

Fixed the iPhone 5 support? Makes an awesome app even better!

I bought this app back in 2010 for my new iPod, only recently I bought an iPad and some "higher end" synths and just to compare I loaded Dxi...I was shocked, I forgot how sweet Dxi sounded. I dont know what it costs now, but seriously in no time I whipped up a tune thats incredibly atmospheric and very deep sounding, with good headphones you really appreciate the sound quality! For a FM synth (or any synth) this is simply an awesome synth. If your serious about synths or just want one to play with Dxi is AWESOME there were one or two I bought that cost 10x more that I use less! Im for real too, there seem to be a lot of fake reviews...but Im real.. Just look at how many times they updated and improved it in 3 years I owned it, this programmer CARES! Lol an no I dont know him or her?

This is a really good app with lots of features, and unlike a lot of apps out right now, it actual works!

Theres nothing I like more than quirky weird synths. And out of every synth app Ive gotten on my iPad, this is by far my favorite. I can (and have) spent hours playing with it, due to its depth and flexibility. Thank you developers, DXi is amazing.

Sounds are rich, deep, resonant and full. Rivals hardware easily. If your looking for a synth with some depth, here it is.

Please add 6-operator/32 algorithm support!

If you like the sounds that one can make with this form of FM synthesis and you use iOS for any audio activities you need this app. Ive had it since it was released and its creator continually updates this app for each iOS release as well as performance enhancements. Seriously good app and my respect to Takahashi-San!!

If you ever wqnted a crystal-clear synth sound with quick response this is a great app. FM synthesis can be a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it you can get all kinds of liquid-smooth gradients and overtones. Really good with virtual MIDI, its my go-to app when I need a quick bass line or key stab.

Holy cow, this is the one to get. Simple and straightforward, amazing classic sounds, .. Worth every iCent ;)

Im really glad the developer keeps providing support to this little jewel of a synth. Comparing this app with its closer adversary, the iYM2151 is ludicrous (putting a $2 app against a $35 app), but DXi still wins. Ill tell you why: DXi has the easiest way to fiddle with FM parameters (via the ADRS screen) versus the number tapping on iYM. Also, DXi has a recorder, MIDI capable, ACP and Audiobus ready, making it easy to integrate to your sonic arsenal. iYM has no MIDI support, no audio recording capability, no ACP nor Audiobus. Finally, DXi gets updated regularly, iYM has been pretty much abandoned. Im still hoping for the capability of opening SYX files from old FM synths like the 4-OP Yamaha TX81Z. That would make this app the king FM synth to have.

Finally came to understand how FM synthesis works by playing with this apps ASDR envelopes. That simple an app. But all the presets sound awesome too. And the MIDI implementation is perfect for me and my iconnect midi+4
