Despite this app being quiet fun app, It is far from perfect. So dont go waiting To it get any better. Like the majority of Apps this is just like a toy.

…make it a real Retina-GUI App, please. ;-) And there are "silent moments" if i switch the Editors-Modes. By the Way: What about 6-Operator FM-Algorithms? :-)

I like this one. Has a strong sound. Incredible noise is possible, easy to manipulate, sounds lonesome and aggressive in one. Love it.

Yea this is truely inspiring little synth that sounds absolutely grate. And yes you can professionally use that one. The new upgrade brings long awaited sustain pedal support... thats a small but important thing on a synth that is so useful specialy for chords and layer stuff. Very cool app, only 2 bucks and it does 4 operator FM synthesis like many of the pst DX7 instruments. Touch envelopes make programming fast and effects, sequencing, and a recording audio copy/paste feature make it perfect for creating parts to add into a multitrack app.

Just like the original DX series

There is something soothing and very smooth about this synth. Perhaps my favourite quality is the polyphonic glide ability. (Try, for example, using the syn bass preset with chord voicings around middle C, using polyphonic glides to transition via semitones from chord to chord): Sounds kind of like a pedal steel in effect. Wow. The presets are musical and just fantastic. The controls are amazing. One screen (on iPad) and yet so much power! Other synths take note! (No pun intended). Thank you!

Too small. Controls and sequencer need to get bigger for it to be enjoyable on my mini. Hope this happens soon.

An unexpectedly great FM synth, which sounds exactly the way a 4-operator FM should do. Although it imitates to a degree that fabulous interface of early Yamaha DX-series synthesizers, it is by far more intuitive and much easier to handle. Still it requires some awareness on what you do in order to get good timbres. Presets are mostly fine, anyway.

Needs some bugfixes, better Preset management and an audio export function. Then itll be a 5star App!!!

They have fixed the crashes in few hours! AMAZING! For me,this is in the top 3. One of the best synth in the store ever. Probably more functions,algoritms,fx, and the possibility to draw personal waves will make this synth the one and only ! Thanx for your work!

DX7 owner & guitar player here; I love this app! First: I appreciate not having to get out of my chair to play the DX7. Second: I think I could learn more about FM synthesis from this app than I ever could from standing at the DX7. Lastly, I wonder if youd consider adding Audiobus Effects support? Id love to play my guitar through my DXi … thanks again.

Wonderful, deceptively simple FM synth. Adjusting the controls of the FM synth and effects in realtime give you a wide variety of interesting sounds that might not be apparent at first. My only criticism is that it seems somewhat lacking in bass, which I know FM is capable of. I wonder if this is an accommodation towards the internal speaker of the ipod? I hope in a future version we get the ability to sequence parameters and abilities closer to the sy99, but anyway, if you like the novel side of FM sounds its especially great.

This synth has some amazing sounds, one of my favorite synths in the store.
